The beach is my happy place. I wish I got to experience it more often. But, I’m cherishing what time I do have here this week.
The 6 is going to hit 44,000 miles while we’re here. Averaging just over 32 MPG.
We’re in Navarre Beach. This is our second year coming here. Last year was interrupted by Hurricane Michael. This year, the weather is perfection.

I’m with you. The beach is my happy place too. Unfortunately there isn’t that kind of beach very close to me, but there is Hawaii which we try to get to every other year if we can. We’re doubling up this time as we went to Maui last February and we’re going to Kauai this February. We were able to find an employee rate room so it’s doable. This is a shot from Lanai, which is a smaller island adjacent to Maui and has fantastic snorkeling .

Much better ride than the Nissan Sentra I was stuck with exploring those beaches. Still enjoyed the area nonetheless. The white sand was a bit blinding but definitely agree on the beach being the happy place. I still like my Pacific ocean beaches better because of the mountains in the background but the warm water in the gulf sure was nice in comparison.

Im going to Hawaii for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend this year. Excited to check out such a cool state! Unfortunately we are taking the touristy approach and staying on Oahu but at least we are avoiding Honolulu for all but flying in the first day and the last night of the trip. With airbnbs booked on the West and North shores there should be plenty of cool stuff to see.

Every time I’ve gone before was to Maui, since we love it so much, so this is the first time I’ll get to see a different island. My wife went to Oahu before we met and had a great time, so I don’t doubt that you’ll enjoy the hell out of it.

We really wanted to do Maui but just couldnt justify the lodging costs over there. Airbnb basically isnt a thing on that island and the hotels just seemed outrageous. Definitely on our list for someday and will just have to suck it up and pay to make it work. It just sucks because a lengthier trip to Europe can be had for the same cost at that point just due to lodging costs. Its wild how much airbnb has influenced my ability to travel.

We’re lucky that since my wife works for a hotel management company she gets employee rates at Hilton properties which includes half off for food. It makes it easier to afford. Given the way Maui is I’m not surprised that Airbnb isn’t really a thing. I bet VRBO is more popular.

Yup, vrbo had a bunch of listings but I've always found that service to be outrageous with the fees and deposits. Especially since there are no rules and they are set by the owners in crazy town. Like $400 cleaning fees and $1000 deposits. Plus not even that nice of places.
